Adam’s is very pleased to announce Laurel Engelhardt and Dante Correon as the 2023 Fellowship winners! They will both study works of Claude Debussy with Dr. Tobin, will present meet and greet recitals in September, and final lecture demonstrations at Adam’s Music House in December. Laurel is a sophomore at Baylor University, in Waco, Texas. Dante is a Sophomore at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas.


Laurel Engelhardt is a pianist from Houston, Texas. Born in 2002, Laurel began piano at the age of 10. With only five years of piano study, Laurel caught the attention of Steinway Artist Dr. Bradley Bolen, and she has been a student of his ever since. The next year, as a junior in high school, Laurel was granted the Piano Guild high school diploma with highest marks. Laurel is currently a sophomore pursuing her degree in piano performance in Dr. Bolen’s studio at Baylor School of Music. Laurel is an active officer in the Baylor University chapter of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). She also serves as Keyboard chair of the Baylor School of Music student council. She frequently collaborates with vocalists, instrumentalists, and choral groups; including collaboration with the Chamber Singers, Baylor’s premiere choral ensemble, for their 2021 Christmas concert her freshman year. Laurel has won an honorable mention at Gloria Artis International Competition in Vienna in 2020. Laurel has received a merit scholarship to attend the 6 week piano institute at Brevard Summer Music Festival this coming June.
Dante G. Correon is an aspiring classical pianist studying at Texas A&M International University in his hometown, Laredo TX. Originally from a background of saxophone all throughout Middle and High School, Dante had found a passion for all sorts of music. It was only until the end of grade school that Dante found his true love and interest- piano. Now on his 2nd year of studying with Dr. Gechter at TAMIU, Dante is determined to learn and play for the world.
